Write notes on your work
You can draw and write on your assignments using the Classroom mobile app, including underlining words, highlighting text, drawing shapes, and leaving notes. Writing and drawing on work is currently only available on Android and iOS mobile devices. For example, you could highlight a sentence, color a map, sketch a plant cell, or solve a math problem.
Write and save notes
Tap Expand on the Your work card. Tap a file that is already attached to an assignment to open it. Tap Edit in the top-right corner to save your notes on an Android device or Back Discard on an iOS device.
How notes are saved
Files can be saved as a Google Docs document, a Microsoft Office document, or a PDF and image file.
Choose a tool
Highlight, Mark, and Erase are located at the bottom of the app’s main screen and can be used to resize or move notes, as well as to write with a pen or a marker.
Change a tool’s color or size
With the writing and highlighting tools, you can use different sizes and colors. Double-tap Write, Mark, or Highlight to see color and size options; tap the Up arrow to see more colors. Tap a color or point size to use it.
Add a text note
To make the text bigger or smaller, select it and pinch two fingers apart; to resize the text box, tap a corner, drag it, and then re-drag it back and forth.
Erase a mark
Erase a mark by tapping it, or double-tap Erase Clear page to erase all marks on the page.
Resize or move a note or image
With the touch of a button, you can resize or move a new note or image. Pinch two fingers apart or together on the note to make it bigger, or drag it to move it.
Zoom in or out on a note
To see the drawing, pinch two fingers apart on the page, pinch two fingers together on the note to zoom out, and drag two fingers across the page to pan over the drawing.
Undo or redo actions
All other company and product names are trademarks of the companies associated with them. Tap Undo or Redo to immediately cancel or redo an action. You can use it repeatedly for consecutive actions. Google, Google Workspace, and related marks and logos are trademarks of Google LLC.
Can you draw on Google Docs?
