How to Draw a T-Shirt Step by Step – EasyLineDrawing
This tutorial demonstrates how to draw a basic t-shirt in six steps, with illustrated drawing examples and brief explanations. The drawing steps for the t-shirts can be seen in the preview above.
Step 1 – Draw the Main Part of the T-Shirt
Make the overall shape slightly wider towards the top to make it look more like a tank top by drawing several smooth curves starting with the sides, then adding the shoulders, neck, and bottom.
Step 2 – Draw the Sleeves
Draw a curve at the top of each sleeve that becomes a nearly straight line as it goes down, then add the sleeves to each side, this time making the overall shapes slightly wider towards the bottom. Draw the bottoms with nice and smooth curves.
Step 3 – Draw the Neckline
Draw a T-shirt neckline, then add the neckline on top of it and connect the two on the sides by drawing a second curve that is slightly smaller than the first (and a little higher) and connecting them.
Step 4 – Draw the Back
Add a slight downward curve in the middle of the back of the neckline, as shown in the example below.
Step 5 – Add a Design & Finish the Line Drawing
T-shirt line drawing Finish the line drawing by drawing a pair of stripes on the sleeves (one for each), then tracing over your drawing with a black pen, marker, or darker pencil lines similar to the ones that define their bottoms a little bit above them.
Step 6 – Color the T-Shirt
T-shirt drawing In this case, the t-shirt will be mostly white with a few light blue stripes along the neckline and sleeves. You can color the t-shirt however you want with any medium (colored pencils, paints, markers, etc…). For example, you can change up the color pattern, use gradients, or make the shirt one solid color.
This tutorial demonstrates how to create a basic drawing of a common t-shirt. Once you have the outline of the shirt, you can have some fun with it and make it more interesting by adding other design elements such as different patterns or a picture or logo that you like.
How can I draw clothes permanently?
Another effective way to permanently preserve Sharpie ink on a T-shirt is to paint over the design with transparent, colorless fabric paint. Simply paint a thin coat of the paint over all the Sharpie lines and let it dry, painting both the front and back of the fabric for the best results.
How can I draw fabric permanently?
Mix a fabric medium with acrylic paint to ensure a permanent finish. Acrylic paint is fast drying and waterproof, but it can crack or peel if used alone. Adding a fabric medium allows the paint to move with the garment, ensuring a permanent finish.
