How to Draw a Fairy – Step by Step Guide
Fairies are mythical creatures with magical abilities who are frequently depicted as a winged creature in human form with a supernaturally beautiful physical appearance. We’ve put together a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a fairy in 9 simple steps.
Step 2 — Draw the Fairy’s Upper Body
Draw two lines starting from the underarm and connecting both ends with a horizontal line at the bottom to give a fairy a cropped bandeau top. When done correctly, it should look like a cropped bikini top or mini-dress.
Step 3 — Draw a Skirt to Complete the Outfit
Draw the top and bottom of your fairy drawing, then draw a skirt with multiple curves down the hem below the top. You can draw the skirt in any shape you want, and you can add patterns and designs to make it more creative.
Step 4 — Add a Second Layer to the Skirt
The second layer, however, must be slightly larger than the first to create a more flowing appearance.
Step 5 — Then, Draw the Fairy’s Legs
Draw a woman in a skirt with a pair of legs below the skirt.
Step 6 — Next, Draw the Fairy’s Hair
Draw a hairline just above the fairy’s brow, then a wavy strand of hair all the way down to the fairy’s lower back. Feel free to draw the fairy’s hair in any style you want! You can make the fairy’s hair straight or curly, and you can even draw it in a ponytail or a bun.
Step 7 — Afterwards, Draw the Fairy’s Wings
Draw a pair of wings at the back of the fairy, extending from the head all the way down to the legs. Fairies’ wings come in a variety of shapes and sizes; some are shaped like butterfly wings, while others are shaped like dragonfly wings. Draw whatever shape you think would look best on your drawing!
Step 8 — Add Patterns on the Wings
Now that we’ve finished drawing the outline of the wings, it’s time to design them to make them even more beautiful! Draw various shapes and patterns within the wings, and let your imagination and creativity run wild when styling them!
Step 9 — Put a Smile on the Fairy’s Face
As you can see, we’re almost done! Now, go back to the outline of the face and draw a pair of arched eyebrows with two eyes right underneath. Draw another tiny circle within the eyes and shade the entire eyes while leaving the tiny circle inside unshaded. Don’t forget to add eyelashes for a more fabulous look!
