How To Draw Flowers: Easy Ways To Draw Simple Flowers
If you want to learn how to draw flowers in a pot, I’ll show you a simple design that you can draw in just a few minutes. You won’t need any special drawing supplies; all you’ll need is a regular pencil, eraser, and black marker.
Step 1: Draw the flower pot
The shapes don’t have to be perfect; if you think it’s too straight, you can fill in or darken certain areas.
Step 2: Draw the petals
Begin by drawing a circle in the shape of a flower, then adding petals with coloured pencils or watercolours to make it look more like a real flower.
Step 4: Attach the stem
To join the flower to the pot, draw two straight lines down. Next, draw a stem for the flower. You don’t have to draw a straight stem; you can choose any style you want! This could be a curved stem that runs from the right or left.
Step 5. Add the leaves
Then, drawing a petal shape around that line and repeating the process for each petal, you’ll be able to complete the image by adding the petals to the flower.
Step 6: Draw smaller ovals in the flower petals
If you’re drawing a flower, draw a stretched oval shape (or a smaller petal shape) in the middle of the petals, using the middle circle as a guide for each petal.
Step 7: Add lines to the smaller petals
I usually shade the petals in, either by coloring the entire petal or adding a few lines to give it more definition.
Step 8: Draw more petals
To make a flower look bigger and better, simply draw half circles by joining one petal to the next. Continue around the flower until all of the petals are joined by the half circles, which makes the flower look even more beautiful!
Step 9: Add smaller flowers to the pot
Simply draw a few rough flower shapes and connect them with a curved line. Don’t leave your flower alone! Draw a few tiny flowers just a little further away from the pot to give it some company.
Step 10: Flower pot and leaf detail
Draw some shapes in the pot to give your flower more detail, or add three V shapes to each of the leaves to make them look like stems if you’re having trouble with the stenciling on this particular flower pot.
Step 11: Draw the floor
Draw two lines around the pot to add the floor or surface area, then sketch a few more lines in an angle for some extra shading that will give the pot a shadow.
