How to Quickly Draw Lines and Free Form Shapes
Learn how to use PowerPoint to draw lines and shapes.
1. Switch to the Insert Tab
Switch to the Insert tab on the PowerPoint ribbon to begin drawing.
2. Draw a Line or Shape
Use the Shapes drop-down menu in PowerPoint to add lines or free form shapes to your chart; these shapes are very simple to draw on your chart. You can add a wide variety of lines and shapes to your slide using the tools available to you.
3. Modify a Line or Shape
With a shape selected, you can adjust some of the stylistic aspects like the color or even the thickness using the options up here, which are all available on the Format tab, which I’m adjusting in the video below.
4. Reposition a Line or Shape & Finish Up
Use the handles on lines or free form shapes to resize them, or click and drag to reposition or resize them. Any of these custom shapes in PowerPoint are simple to use for adding a bit of flair to a slide.
