How to Draw a Pizza Step by Step
This tutorial will show you how to draw a pizza in nine steps, with different parts/toppings added in each step. It is recommended that you use a pencil and draw light lines until the eighth step of the tutorial.
Step 1 – Draw the Outline of the Pizza
Because this pizza will be drawn from an angle, it will have a shape that is similar to an oval or even a cross-hatched diptych.
Step 2 – Draw the Crust
To make a pizza crust, draw a smaller oval inside the previous one, making the top/far side of the crust narrower than the front/bottom side.
Step 3 – Draw the Slices
To draw the slices, first draw a horizontal line (or something close to one), but make it so that the bottom/front portion of the pizza is larger/taller, and then draw another line that roughly divides the pizza in half vertically.
Step 4 – Draw the Slices Across the Crust
Draw the lines as curves around it to emphasize its shape, and then draw the slice lines across the crust to represent the various types of toppings available for each type of pizza.
Step 5 – Draw the Pepperoni
Draw some pepperoni by drawing more oval-like shapes that are similar to the crust but much smaller, as well as making the slices smaller as they get closer to the back of the pizza.
Step 6 – Draw the Mushrooms
Add some mushrooms to the pizza and try to make the ones near the back slightly smaller than the ones in the front.
Step 7 – Draw the Peppers
Drawing of pizza peppers To finish the toppings, add some slices of pepper.
Step 8 – Finish the Line Drawing
Draw some broken up curved lines that sort of trace the outer shape of the slices to make the pepperoni look a little less “flat,” then go over your drawing with darker pencil lines or a black pen/marker to make it look a little less “flat.”
Step 9 – Color the Pizza
Make the crust an orange/brown, the cheese a yellow, the pepperoni a red/brown, the mushrooms grey, and the peppers green. Use paints like gouache/water colors or colored pencils to color the pizza, as markers will be too bright.
As previously stated, drawing a pizza is similar to making one in that you gradually add different toppings. This pizza is drawn with fairly traditional toppings, but you can experiment with different kinds to see what you get.
How do you draw a simple pizza?
Until the eighth step of the tutorial, it is recommended that you use a pencil and draw light lines.
- Step 1: Draw the Pizza Outline. Step 2: Draw the Crust. Step 3: Draw the Slices. Step 4: Draw the Slices Across the Crust. Step 5: Draw the Pepperoni. Step 6: Draw the Mushrooms.
- Step 7: Draw the Peppers.
What is a pizza slice shape?
A sector is shaped like a slice of pizza, with a curved edge and each straight side the same length as the radius of the circle, or pizza, from which it was cut; it can be any size, but a half-circle sector (180u00b0) is called a semicircle, and a quarter-circle sector (90u00b0) is called a quadrant.
