Create a floor plan
Draw floor plans for individual rooms or entire floors of your building using the Floor Plan template in Visio. A fixed grid can be useful in floor plans and maps where you always want grid lines to show the same measurement. Here is an example of a completed floor plan. Drag Exterior wall shapes from the Walls, Shell and Structure stencil onto the drawing page.
Drag wall switches, outlets, and other wall fixtures from the Electrical and Telecom stencil onto wall shapes. Reposition the dimension lines and text by dragging a control handle. Release the mouse button when a bold square appears, indicating that the symbol is glued to the wall.
Drag Exterior wall shapes onto the drawing page using the Walls, Shell and Structure stencil from the Walls, Shell and Structure stencil. Resize a room by dragging the control handles and selection handles on individual walls.
